In a report at New Strait Times digital portal on August 13 state “KLIA, LGK named as the world No.1 airports for Q2”.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Langkawi International Airport (LGK) were named as the world’s number one airports for the second quarter of (Q2) of 2021 by Airports Council International (ACI).

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said both airports achieved a perfect score of 5.0/5.0 in ACI’s latest global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, benchmarking the world’s best airports in terms of facilities and service standards.

Group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said these encouraging results were a testament to the MAHB’s efforts in continuously maintaining services and implementing safety measures while preparing for travel resumption.

“Major initiatives contributing to the improved performance include the strict implementation of new travel standard operating procedures (SOPs) that heightened a safe and secure travel experience and the opening of 64 newly refurbished washrooms for the continued comfort of passengers,” he said in a statement on Friday 13th August.

Mohd Shukrie said the refreshed and improved ambience of the terminal at LGK, resulting from its successful commercial reset initiative, continues to contribute to the overall satisfaction of passengers passing through the terminal.
