Sultan Sulaiman Club is built in 1909, and it was the oldest Malay Club in Malaysia. The Building has an old-style heritage building in its compound. It was destroyed in 1930 and constructed back in 1932, of bricks and concrete structure, with enclosure of timber panels and clay roof tiles.
This historical club was where United Malay National Organization (UMNO) was conceptualized by the Malay nationalists. It located at Kampung Baru, and the building is not typical.
Sultan Sulaiman Club rebuilt in 2007, although it is an accurate replica of the old clubhouse which stood here before which was built in 1932 and demolished in 1967.
This place was also used as the training ground for one of the main clubs during the heydays of Malaysian football.
