As you know Malaysia has many ethnic groups that live together in harmony. One of them is the Indian race, they are considered a major race in Malaysia, and their culture has mixed with the original and become the Malaysian culture. The food is one of them.

Today we are going to introduce to you the Vadai. It is a category of Savoury fried snacks originally from India. If you search it in google you can find many names, one of it vada. And it has many shapes, one is the doughnut shape, which we are going to mention today.

Vadia is made from different types of pulses such as chana dhal (split chickpeas), toor dhal (yellow pigeon peas) and urad dhal (black gram). Spicy and Savoury ingredients such as onions, green chilies, cumin seeds, curry leaves and salt are later added to the mixture.

The texture of the vadai is crisp and fluffy. It is served with dhal or coconut chutney and it is served for breakfast. You can find it in Mamak restaurants or Indian cuisine restaurants.
